japanese lessons [

I recently started japanese lessons at ikoma language school. It was really interesting there. I'm like the youngest in class.

てんま先生
はじめまして。
わたしわ杏です。
どうぞよろしく。
杏産わシンガポル陣ですか?
はい。私わシンガポル陣です。
てんま先生もうシンガポル陣ですか?
いいえ。私わ日本人です。

That was the conversation learnt. haha...basic.
Then we learnt numbers. well, from watching jap anime, I guess I already picked up some phrases. The teacher thought I had learnt japanese in high school before. haha.
She's only been in Singapore for half a year to be a teacher. It's really interesting.

catch phrases...
まだまだだね
油断せずにいく
だってばよ
hahaha.....

Piano Trio [

[ music | Remember - UN ]

The most exciting bit of the day was the piano trio at the conservatory concert hall at the National University of Singapore. I read about the free concert in The Straits Times and said, "I'm gonna go." And so I did. duh...!

It was absolutely fabulous. I went thinking it was going to be a student's performance. It ended up being the teachers' performance. Thomas Hecht on the piano, Qian Zhou on the violin and Qin Li-Wei on the cello.

They played Trio No. 43 in C major, Hob, XV:27 by Haydn, Trio No.2 in E minor; Op. 67 by Shostakovich, and Trio in A minor by Ravel. For the encore, they played a classical piece by Beethoven.

It was spell binding to watch them play. So immersed in their music, their whole body movement expressing the dynamics of the piece bringing out the mood in the song. I like the cellist. His facial expression were kinda cute. haha. His eyes were always widening and he looked like he wanted to fly while sitting on the chair. The violinist was the same in the fact that she looked like she wanted to fly. You know, when you want to do a sfz on a note? She was like jumping up and down. Ok, I know if I write it this way the whole concert sounds funny, but if you're sitted there and watching them play, it's a whole different story.

The place was packed few with people q-ing outside with no place to sit. I'm glad I got there early. Now I know. If there is to be a performance, go there at least 30 mins earlier. Esp if it's free. Kiasu Singaporeans as usual.

I was sick actually. Headache and flu. The way back to home was terrible. I never want to go through that again. Seriously.

Should I have high dreams for myself? I can't imagine myself majoring in piano at NUS. It's like an unachievable dream. The standard is so high. Yet, it is my dream to get into NUS for a music degree...

Cool Job [

I got a cool job! Ok, it's not really a job. More like helping a friend. But it's a passion job, not a money making one. Though it could be if you're really good at it.
It's a comic colouring job! My friend is a comic artist who just started his business not too long ago and he's coming out with a christmas comic book by the end of this year. I'm helping with the colouring in adobe photoshop while he does the drawing. So cool. He can draw 3 pages a day, and i'm spending like the whole day colouring one page and making sure the colours, alignment are all proper. It's neat, this job.
I've found a friend in China who's into Aiba Hiroki-san. Haha...it's great talking to her. Some of my other friends like Natsu-chan and Miho-chan aren't replying me at all. And they're the ones with first hand news.
Waiting for my hair to dry before I go to sleep...

Ahh...things are like all over the place. I see most livejournals, and I look at my own. I give up. I can't bring anything nice into this space. I can only take.

Ah, whenever I remember the "You got game" by Kimeru. And the sad faces of all the tenimyu's first cast, I'm like just so sad too. I don't understand jap, but when Kimeru gave his speech, I think he was speaking abit on Yanagi and his accident. Correct me if I'm wrong...
I think it's way so cool to do a musical, having rehearsals together and all that. How I wish I could do that too. Even if I join the church's christmas musical, it's always behind the piano. I want to be one of those acting and singing too. Haha...or, I would rather be the video person taping down all the backstage and funny parts, just like all those backstage clips we have on the POT musicals.
I love POT so much. It rocks!
